This is my third week here at Tech Data as an intern with the HPE team. To begin with it was a bit overwhelming at first; there were so many new faces and so many new processes to learn. I am so thankful that all the team members were very welcoming and understanding. First to understand how Tech Data and the HPE team works my manager had me shadow the HPE partner enablement team: Shannon, Ian, Joel, Max and Sam. It was such a pleasure to meet Joel, he was so attentive, and made sure to introduce me to the entire HPE team made up of 20 engineers, 4 consultants, 20 pricing specialist and 5 partner enablement associates.
My first task was to shadow the team members with a goal in mind. My goal was to observe the team and their processes to create a standardized guideline for the team. The exciting part about this is that this is a brand new team, so I feel like I am helping the team come together. At first it was very difficult to follow the team member processes, but each of them made sure to explain the tasks and answered every question. So far I have created outlines for the processes and powerpoints to display the processes. I am very excited to show these to the HPE enablement team.
Overall, this is a very fast paced industry were processes are constantly changing, which I find very fascinating. Change is definitely the constant here. I have learned that Tech Data started very small and it seems that due to determination and adaptability they have been able grow to a $26 billion dollar corporation. I am looking forward to my next projects working with the HPE marketing team. I am very enthusiastic for the rest of my internship here and thus far it has been great getting to know the team members and working alongside them.
